The Eldorado Woolen Mill is one of the finest places in Eldorado, Texas. It was the first woolen mill built in the state of Texas. The building was built on November 3, 1939. During this time period the demand for wool and mohair was great. The woolen mill has done many great things and has helped many struggling people. During the Nazi bombing in Europe, the woolen mill produced refuge blankets, they were woven by the employees. They referred to this as "Blankets for Britain" the woolen mill produced 24,300 blankets during this tragic time.
This is the Picture of today's Woolen Mill. The Woolen Mill is located on Main Street of Eldorado TX. The Woolen Mill is no longer in use but still open for tours. |
