First Baptist Church

The life of the church began on Sunday September 1, 1901 in Eldorado, Texas. People gathered in the school house to begin organizing and preparing the work of the First Baptist Church of Eldorado. The first Church Covenant was signed by 15 charter members and the Articles Of Faith as contained Newton Brown's Manual was adopted. In 1905 the first church building was erected with a seating capacity of 250 people. On June 5, 1928 the first building was torn down and people  began building a bigger church out of brick. On November 11, 1928 the first church service was held in the new brick building.
