The Methodist Church was organized in July of 1901 in Eldorado, Texas. They held regular church service in a small school building or under brush arbors. In September of 1903 the Methodist congregation erected the first church building to be built in Eldorado. The lot was donated by the Eldorado Town site Company, J.W. Embrey was the architect and builder. After the new building was built and ready to go the very first building was sold to the public school to be used for more class rooms.
This is today's First United Methodist Church of Eldorado. The Methodist Church is located on high way 277 across from the courthouse and Eldorado Police Department. |
