It all began July 15, 1939 the first volunteer fire department of Eldorado, Texas was established. Mayor Leslie Barker helped the young department get under way. The first truck ever purchased was a Ford with a Seagraves 500 GPM pump. The trucks were stored away in city hall every night to where today they now have their own station.
This is the Eldorado Volunteer Fire Station today. City Hall use to be the home of the fire trucks now the fire department has its own station located on Highway 29 (Menard Highway).
This is Eldorado's City Hall and is located across the street from the post office and also on High Way 29. |
