This is the one of five original black and white photographs of the Migrant Mother with three of her children. The Migrant Mother, after being photographed by Dorothea Lange, became the face of the Great Depression. Notice the sorrow in this woman's eyes and the way her children seem to cower behind her, as if she could make all the hurt of this painful time disappear. |
