Most of the world knows the woman in this photograph to be the Migrant Mother. What most people don't know is that her real name was Florence Owens. This woman lived during one of the most difficult times our country has ever endured, the Great Depression. Florence Owens was a strong woman and supported herself and her 7 children during these hard times while also coping with the loss of her dear husband. |
