New York Statue of Liberty

This is an amazing picture of The Statue of Liberty on Liberty Island. Today the statue appears light green, but when it was delivered to America from France it was copper. The light green color is the result of natural weathering of the copper. The Statue of Liberty is one of New York's most popular tourist attractions. New York was admitted to statehood on July 26, 1788. It was the 11th of the original 13 colonies. Albany is the state capital of New York. The state bird of New York is the Bluebird. New York's state flower is the beautiful Rose, and the tree is the Sugar Maple. "I Love New York" is the state's song. The Empire State is the nickname of New York and the motto is "Excelsion".
