This is a picture of The University of Virginia. This photo was taken sometime between 1890 and 1910. The capitol of Virginia is Richmond. Virginia was admitted to statehood on June 25, 1788. Like West Virginia the Cardinal is also the state bird of Virginia. The state's flower is the Dogwood and the state tree is the Flowering Dogwood. The state song of Virginia is "Carry Me Back To Old Virginia." The nickname of Virginia is Old Dominion State and the motto is "Thus always to Tyrants". |
