Train Carrying Copper

This intriguing picture was taken in 1939 just outside of a mine in Ducktown, Tennessee. The train in the background is transporting copper ore from the mine. If you look toward the back of the picture you can see the fumes rising into the sky. Notice the lack of vegetation and wildlife. This is probably caused by the fumes and harmful gasses that often are produced in mines.
