Have you ever wondered how tobacco or burley was harvested? Well, in the picture above, it shows two workers cutting down the tobacco plant and getting ready to send it to market. Burley tobacco is placed on sticks to wilt after cutting, before it is taken into the barn for drying and curing. This picture was taken on the Russell Spear's farm near the area of Lexington, Kentucky. |
