Women at Work This is a picture of some farmers at a Bayou Bourbeau plantation. The picture was taken in the early 1940s in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Many African Americans really didn't have a choice where they wanted to work. The little  children  also worked very hard on these farms with their families.
