This is a very fine picture of a group of African American farmers. This picture was taken on rented land, near White Plains, Greene County, Georgia. The farmers were chopping cotton. Notice the women are working alongside the men. It is interesting to note that the women appear to be working in nice dresses. Chopping cotton was very hard work. |
